Welcome!

Thank you for visiting Baby Danny's website! For those of you who have never been here, allow me to give you the basics. This is Baby Danny:

Baby Danny was born on July 27th, 2007. He was six weeks early and had to spend two weeks in NICU. He was unable to breathe on his own and had to spend the first week on a ventilator. Once they were able to take him off of it, they noticed that one side of his face wasn't moving in sync with the other. Afraid that he may have had a stroke, they sent him for an MRI. They found that he had several small holes in his brain. This condition is called Periventricular Leukomalacia or PVL for short. At first, he was a little ragdoll. He barely moved at all. He didn't curl up in the fetal position like most babies. Gradually, he began to tighten up, but then he didn't stop. After a couple of months, his arms and legs were extremely tight and very hard to stretch out. He was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at this point. We were also starting to notice that he didn't respond to movement or sound the way he should. Eventually, we got diagnosis of Cortical Visiual and Audiological Impairments. Most recently, he has begun having strange spasms that have been tentitavely diagnosed as a form of Epilepsy called Infantile Spasms. We have been in for a video EEG to try and catch a spasm, but after 48 hours in the hospital, we were unable to catch anything and we had to come home. We will try again in a couple of months.
